I was stupidly messing around with the flowering stalk of my Psychopsis Papilio Mariposa. I managed to break off the flower and the next flower bud on the stalk one knuckle back from the end.

It looks like there is a viable bud remaining at the broken end.
My question is will that bud form a new bloom, or should I cut the stalk back closer to the plant or am I just out of luck until a new flower stalk starts to form.
I was depressed

for the rest of the day after it happened. I guess that will teach me.
