hmmm - the newer growth - on the left, behind some others does looks as if its coming in pleated ... if so it won't unpleat but more water will keep new growth coming in smooth

Oh, I see what you're talking about now. Yes, there is a bit of pleating huddled in there I hadn't even noticed in person. At least now I know it was underwatered, not over. Thanks! |

yeah - I didn't notice it til doc pointed it out - and didn't seem like it was just lighting  |

Just a quick update. I repotted the orchid today and she looks much better already! There were quite a few dead roots as the King predicted, but some still looked healthy and a few appeared to be just clinging to life. After I cut the dead roots off there weren't many left, but I cleaned out the pot and put in new bark mix, and it all cleaned up quite nicely.
Hopefully this means I'll be able to post new and improved pictures soon. Until then, thanks to everyone for the advice, and I'll continue poking around the boards to further my orchid education.  |

As to light, just be careful it doesn't get too much direct sunlight (a little in the morning probably won't hurt). My onc's like bright light but they do burn if they get too hot.

Yeah, it did get some sun spots being too close to the south window the day before yesterday, so I moved it a bit further away and now it seems to be doing fine. |
