cattleya shrivled leaves
Default cattleya shrivled leaves

hi my name is arielle and I have been growin orchids for a year. I have a cattelya that began growin new roots and a new shoot, but then it got some brow spots on the new growth and the center shoot turned dark black so i cut is to the green portion of the plant an put cinnomon on the spot to dry it out,i read that it was fungus. this seemed to work and the new shoot turnned from green to black and is dryed out and no longer rotting. new roots continue to grow from dead shoot, but on seperate pod one single leaf is green but slightly shrivled as if not enough water present. these pods are smaller and thinner than the others. this is the case with two pods but the other pods leaves are thick, solid and green why is this help! lol...

Hi Arielle, I'm not sure I understand what your catt is doing, can you post a picture or two?

I will try to borrow a camera but as of now i do not have one. The leaves coming out of two of the bulbs are still green but the leaf rather than being solid and plump and thick is thin and almost has a dehydrated wrinkled look like it may need water, but it still is slightly damp at the bottom of the container. I hope this helps thanks for your time I will try and find a camera.

What potting medium is this cattleya in? Have you taken it out of the pot to inspect the roots?
