Peach State Orchids

I am new to this orchid board, and found it randomly on the computer
I did notice someone made a comment on Peach State Orchids the other day..
I found it and really liked it.
I had to have a paph, and an oncidium,,both of which are yet to bloom
I have not had either before ,,,are they easy to care for??
I am replenishing my stock after my orchids died one by one, over the past year or so...

Personally, I consider the Onc the easier of the two. But Paphs aren't very high on the difficulty scale either.

The thing with Oncidiums is that they have a fine root system that can be somewhat difficult to maintain properly. But once you establish the plant, they grow like no other. Depending on what kind of Oncidium, they are also pretty easy to bloom.

Different Oncs will grow in different temperature ranges, it'd be important to know what you have.

One of my favorite Oncidium is Onc Twinkle 'Fragrance Fantasy'.

Although another Onc I've seen a few days ago looks pretty cute too. I don't know the name of this Onc hybrid, but it is a rather small plant that gets no taller than 4 or 5 inches tall maybe a bit shorter. It has a spray of small wispy flowers that are creamy with brown spotting. I may get it some time later.

Anyways...

The deal with Paphs is that most of them generally grow pretty slow. Some of them also have poor roots upon purchase. They're also semi-terrestrial. Paphs grow in leaf litter, humus, topsoil or decomposing wood.

I've only grown a few Paphs, so I can't say much about them.

Is there a good book, or place that you would recommend to look for general orchid care??
In your opinion what are the easiest orchids to grow??
I know I should have purchased at least one with blooms, as I am waiting for my 2 new babies to bloom

As for the easiest kind of orchids, I'm a species guy and do mostly species so I'll give you species orchids to try.

These are a list of the large and showy Laelias they're super easy to grow and are very forgiving of cultural mistakes.

Laelia anceps
Laelia (Schomburgkia) superbiens

Cattleyas are also great beginners orchids with strong fragrances.
