I used to drive up there alone. That was fun after the first few times. But after a while, it wasn't as fun anymore. It was all about me, and in the back of my head I was always thinking, "Man, I invited my friends and all they said to me was, 'Hell no!'". It also kinda sucked to bring friends who didn't care about orchids like I did and whined about how long I was taking when I was perusing the orchid vendors after looking at the orchid displays in the Huntington Library show here in Pasadena.

From the perspective of someone who has always lived in the Los Angeles County area, I loved the idea of going up there in a road trip type situation with good friends. sorta like in the movie "Sideways". Except with more people and without the wine tasting and it'd be about orchids.

I drove to the last San Diego Show by myself which was about 2 hrs also and had fun since I did not have to worry about anybody getting bored waiting for me. One of my girl friends is into orchids also but she was missing in action yesterday.

Yeah, my old co-workers uses to laugh at me when I talk about orchids and me joining the OS, they think it's only for older people.

Oh well, maybe I'll make it there tomorrow or just wait for the one at the Huntington Library...but man admission there is not cheap.
