Default Paph roots in bad shape - need help

I have a paph that is just sitting there with two new growths. The old flowered growth has completely disintegrated already. I pulled it out of the pot to check the roots and there might be one viable root left. What can I do to get it to grow some new roots? Should I keep it dry compared to before, should I add rooting powder, put it in a darker spot? I don't know what to do and I don't want to lose this beauty. Any help is appreciated.

Rooting powders are much too concentrated for use on orchids.

Get a liquid version like K-L-N or SuperThrive. Soak the entire plant for about an hour in a gallon of tepid water to which you've added about a teaspoon of the stuff.

Pot it up in some fresh, moist, airy medium, put it in a plastic bag to maximize the humidity, then keep it warm and shady.

If it's going to recover, it will.

I've had some success using basically Rays method. Just keep in mind, this can be a very long process. Patience is a major virtue here. Good luck.

There's an article in Orchid Digest a few months ago about rooting paphs in straight perlite. Some other people tried the trick and it seems to work well

Otherwise, I use live moss and it seems to work well too good luck!

Straight perlite? You'd have to water it a lot then, wouldn't you?

The process is basically semi-hydroponics.
