Default Phalaenopsis Hybrid

I have a Phalaenopsis Hybrid which I got about six month ago. Early in January this year it give out a spike which bore flowers - light lemon yellow with pink spottings on it lower lip. The flowers have lasted for five months and are just about to fade away. Do I cut the spike after all th flowers have fallen off or do I keep it in the hope of it flowering again?

This is the advise from FirstRays (Ray here on OB).

Spike Cutting

Personally I usually cut them right back to the base, but I think Ray gives good advice.

Thank you Rosie. I use to do the same but recently I read a couple of contrary views so just thought why not check and get a view from the Forum members.
