White Furry Mold??? Female
Default White Furry Mold???

Both of my Catts are developing furry white spots. The older, less healthy Catt has this mold in each of the base of it's leaves. I've tried to research online, but have not had much luck. Does anyone have experience with this mold? What do I do to get rid of it???? Thanks in advance for any advice!!

Is it mealy bugs? If you scrape some of the fur off, you might see the little critters underneath.

Hi Orhidgirl! If you could post a photo it would help. I am not an 'expert' & you haven't tolsd us what your growing conditions are like?
but, as you describe it, 'White mould' could mean:
- 'real mould' - maybe due to an accumulation of water & it not drying out enough?
Or maybe 'mealy bugs' as Pantsonfire says above?
Or it could be something else?...
In any case If I had the problem I would get rid of it ASAP - even if it means only wiping it off!!!! Until the problem is 'diagnosed'. Post a photo if you can. I'm sure somebody with experience will chip in to help
Good Luck!

Here is a photo of mealy bugs on a jade plant. They cover themselves with this cotton and it might look like mold. See my finger for scale. A Q-tip dipped in alcohol will make short work of them.

It could be snow mold...I'd remove it from the pot, clean it up and heavily spray it with Listerine. Let it sit a minute or two and then rinse. Then I give it a light spray again (no rinse) and repot it in a clean pot with new medium.
