I think sometimes people just get offended very easily and overreact, sometimes to the point it seems like they are looking for a reason to be offended. Reading the posts on this thread, I see no reason for the person to get so upset. Sounds like there may be other "issues".

I agree with Susan. I think there is more going on here than meets the eye. FWIW (For What It's Worth ) I don't think you are a condescending jerk at all. You do a very good job of covering all the bases for a lot of the newbie questions. You are very thorough.

In this thread a plea for help was posted. The OP was given a lot of good reasons to not continue along his chosen route, which I think he chose to ignore. I don't think any newbies were trashed. It was a discussion. As with all discussions not everyone agrees. One can only hope that others not just newbies got something out of this.
