I can't believe it but I tried hydrogen peroxide and cinnamon and it is working. I may loose the leaf but the bulb and crown are recovering. Amazing Ray!

I've bought from Clouds Orchids a few times myself, most of my collection is from there. I drive down once and awhile on one of their open house dates as it's just over an hours drive for me.
Every plant I have bought from them has been healthy and pest free. At least at the time I bought them, I've killed quite a few through trial and error.
Some need repotting, some don't. The date of potting is written on the tag, and any subsequent repottings are usually hand written on the back.
You may also notice a 4 digit number on the tag, that number is also written on the pot, even if you lose the tag completely you can still contact Cloud's Orchids to get an id.

Thanks Axle

I have been happy with the plants. Just the one had some black mold at the base and I think it happened during transit. I would love to be able just to drive to their greenhouse. It would be a five hour drive for me. The staff at Clouds are very helpful and return my emails promptly. I am trying some different orchids then Phals. If I am successful I would most certainly do more shopping there.

I say oncidiums and miltonias are definitely the way to go if you're wanting change from phalaenopsis. I have one oncidium intergeneric hybrid, which is currently sending out new growth at an astounding rate. My next acquirement will be a miltonia or miltonia hybrid!

In repotting, I always go one size up from my current pot. Glad to see all the great responses you've picked up! Best of luck with your new additions

I just tried the peroxide treatment on one of my newest phals that had black spots all over the upper roots and a discolored leaf and it made quite the noise! We'll see how it goes!
