New growth on Phalaenopsis Male
Default New growth on Phalaenopsis

Can anyone tell me what the new growth is on the old flower stalk of this Phalaenopsis? It started at a dormant bud after the flowers died off. It looks like I have two more coming on an offshoot branch too. I have recently re-potted this one in good medium. The sprout started prior to re-potting.

Thanks in advance

As you can see, the close-up shows something growing between the second and third leaf growth. It seems to have three pink leaves(sepals?) with a whiteish mass inside. I wouldn't think that a Keiki would produce a flower so quickly.

I'm inclined to say a keiki, with identity issues.
It does look like it may have also produced a bud or a deformed leaf, hence the identity issues.

Great! I will go with the consensus of a keiki. Thanks for the help!

Yup, it's a keiki, and it looks like it's got a flower bud, but which hasn't quite made it out of the leaves. It's strange, but I've seen it before, on one of my keikis! It made 2 nice blooms when the keiki was only about 3-4 months old.

Its a keiki. I thought someone might have stuck some bubble gum in there, lol ... it does look like a flower. I've never seen mine do this though
