It seems like Tracy the Orchid is just fine with the hot nights and "cool" days(it's within sanity to name one's orchid, right?)

Can I ask you what the name of the '1/2'? mollusc shell you have on the top is? As I find these alot on sea urchins (on a reef) but have never 'seen a live one'
Thanks

I've seen some corny names on the vender list for that, but I believe if you search "abalone" you should find tons of info on them. They come out at night and have little appendages that come out of the holes. They are quite a bit larger than other "snails" and do a good job cleaning the aquarium

In the fish world I call an acclimation successful after a year in its new home. How long do you wait for flowers?

For Phalaenopsis, one year to establish is pretty common.

Pretty sweet! This orchid lost some flowers right away after it bloomed, but the rest have stayed open all Summer. How long could they stay open for? So far I have only fed it RO+DI water. I suppose I should get some sort of fertilizer at some point?

I guess the hot evenings and "cool" days are not effecting the plant too much.

It really brightens up my computer work time
