Hi, I also have this phal. It will continue to put out new buds/blooms on the spike for a long time.
We all have to remember that Doritis and Doritaenopsis (a cross between Doritis and Phalaenopsis) have been re-classified and are now phalaenopsis.

Thanks for the info, Al-- how long is a "long time?"
Thats interesting that doritis and phals all fall under phals-- if they were so close already, why ever did they have them split?

I have no idea. LOL
Mine went through the regular bloom cycle and I left the spike on. It took a little rest then started budding again on the original spike. I think a good 6 months. I finally cut the spike so the plant could regenerate.

[EDIT]
I just checked this plant and it has a Keiki. I had cut the spike just above the second node and that is where the Keiki is growing.
