Mine take a few days to open their blooms (and it takes even longer for the buds to mature).

I'd love to see a time-lapse video of an orchid opening its flowers. It'll be interesting to see the buds twist into place and then unfurl.

This will just be the bud opening. It's going on 14 and a half hours and still not fully open. The bloom is about half way there at this point. Still recording.

Is it open yet? did you get it all? I tried this with cacti and cyclamen using a stills camera without the aid of a tripod and then got a stacking program that put them into a slide show - it worked but it would be better if it was controlled by a computer and with a mounted camera - but good fun none the less
