I have 14 orchids with my citrus, royal poinciana, coffee and bonsai. They help raise the humidity a bit. They are all in my bedroom, so I can't have an ultra powerful humidifier, just a small one. Everything flourishes. It seems the one thing I inherited from my nanna is the ability to grow orchids without problems (thus far...fingers crossed almost to breaking point!)
As long as the plants aren't detrimental (as previously stated) all should be well if you avoid pests. And the plants that kill others for being too close - we have a few trees here in England, I forget their names, that emit a toxic chemical into the air to destroy near-by plants and trees to eliminate competition. Freaky lol.
