I received my light pink Phalaenopsis for my birthday last year (Oct 7, 2008) When I received it all stems were bloomed, there is even another kind of orchid in the same pot that was already flowered. Since then that orchid has lost all flowers but the pink Phalaenopsis has kept its same 6 flowers since then, they are practically perfect! IS THIS NORMAL? Ive read that they normally last 1 maybe 2 months but mine are going on 7 and going strong! I have been taking pictures every few weeks and like i said they practically look like they've just bloomed!
Welcome to the OB bigbullits.
Congratulations on the phal blooms lasting so long, it's not really normal but it's not rare either. You must doing something right! Keep enjoying them and post pictures....we love pictures.

they do last for a long time. Seven months is much longer than expected on a single bloom, but spikes keep forming buds to replace old blooms on many. Good job!
I have a white Phal. that has been blooming for about the same length of time...... When one flower dies another just pops up.....Just keeps going....And i'm loving it.
Some phals hold individual flowers for a very long time. My white NOID keeps it's flowers for nearly as long as your pink one has. You must have very good conditions for the blooms to stay so long though. Congratulations!
I have a lavender/pink one that lasts nearly that long. It has a huge spike with 13 flowers and it's been in full bloom since Februrary. It did the same thing last year.
I have a Phalaenopsis Mericlone P.(Fortune Buddha x Brother Pumpkin) thats been in bloom since late November. I just recently has decided to start dropping it's flowers.
