Stressed Orchids? Female
Unhappy Stressed Orchids?
A couple of weeks ago I bought one Oncidium and a Colm. Wild Cat.
When I brought them home I noticed droplets on the flowers stems.
The droplets are still there...is this due to some stress?
Both orchids are in a west window.
What should I do?

Natural, not stress related. It's sap, like from a tree.

Still I wonder about that sap!
Is it particular to Oncidium and Colm.?
I have been unable to find info about it...

Some call it 'honey dew', and I've seen 'happy sap' too. It's normal on a lot of plants, and means it's happy, and doing fine. If you taste it, it is quite sweet.

Any orchid can produce the sap, (just like any plant has their own version of this).

My Den. kingianum did this while it produced seed pods.

It's always good to see happy sap!! I have a phal that seems to always have it! Guess it likes me.
