Anyone in Sacramento want to try to save my 2 orchids?
Exclamation Anyone in Sacramento want to try to save my 2 orchids?

Hi,

I am a total beginner, and I have 2 orchids that are dying and I was wondering if anyone in Sacramento would like to give them a good home and try to save them. The first one I bought, I thought it needed more sunlight so I put it outside on my balcony during the day, and then brought it back inside at night. I did that for about a week until I found out orchids hate abrupt temp. changes, and direct sunlight. I bought another orchid, and accidentally overwatered it one time, and it was sitting in water for a few days before I realized it. This one is doing real bad.

Anyone interested can email me at danielle.hansen82@gmail.com.

Thanks!

I wanted to write this for the sake of learning...

If the plants are as badly damaged as you say they are...I'm sorry to tell you that if you gave them away even to someone in your area, that's enough stress to risk killing them off. Don't worry about taking one less Phalaenopsis hybrid of the face of the planet. I guarantee you there are more where those came from. Man-made hybrids are mass produced. I used to work for an orchid nursery that sold Phals as their main crop. These were shipped to us in large quantities from Taiwan. The reason they could is because of the advent of meristem cloning.
