ORCHID PARAPHENALIA - Compiled From Orchid Board

Here is a list that I compiled from the older survey

409 cleaner

Bar rags (no paper towels..I go through them too much)

Buckets for immersion watering ,various sizes - buckets, lots of buckets
Calendar (for keeping track of the water/fertilizer regimen)
Cinnamon
Clean newspaper,
Clear plastic cover over metal cart (keeps humidity up)
Clips
Cmeter- CpH -calabrated
Compressed air (computer cleaner) for blowing water out of crowns/leaf crotches
Computer MVP (most valuable paraphernalia) with CDs or DVDs to back up files
Cork slabs
Cotton swabs
Curved dental scraper
Cuticle trimmers
Dishpans
Dishwashing liquid
Dosatron fertlizer injector
Drainers -plant, and fill them with pebbles and water
Drip trays
Epiweb (pots and cubes)
Fans - lots of them - for circulating air
Fertilizer
Glass eye dropper
Hangers
Humidifier
Humidity trays!
Hydrogen peroxide
Insecticidal soap, sprays, Fungicide sprays

Library of orchid books (some pretty expensive and pretty specialized)

Listerine, brown
Magnifying glass (usually in tandem with the tweezers)
Measuring tape, spoons, cups
Metal carts, with shelves
Meters TDS and light meter -calibrated
Mounting pieces
Name tags / marker/ #2 pencil
Neem oil, or mineral oil
Note paper and pen or pencil

Orthene (yuck! I keep it triple containered and stored in hubby's shed )
Paper punch (heavy duty) to punch holes in top of plastic pots to attach name tags with twist tie
Paper towels to get water out of crowns and clean up

Plastic food storage containers used for soaking plants
Plastic bags -sturdy clear ones for tenting, green plastic to cover ground so I don’t make such a mess
Plastic pot trays (EVERYWHERE...)
Pots - clay, mesh, plastic, for S/H, wood baskets
Potting mixes, clay aggregate, spag, CHC. Bark, Shredded tree fern, cocoa fiber, charcoal, any other used

Sharp knife, and a curved knife

Sponges and squeegee to clean the mess when I water.

STRAW so I didnt get a face full when i tried to blow water out of my phals crown.

Swiss-Army Knife (useful for any pruning, or hacking...)
Syringe for measuring liquid ferts
Tape, of various kinds
Thermometer, Hygrometer - or combination unit
Thiomyl
Tool box (hammer, pliers, screw driver,wire cutters, tweezers, needle nose pliers)
Toothbrush - dip in soapy water and you can gently scrub away scale and give YOU a great smile. Turkey Baster (I'll let you figure out what that's for )
Twist ties and cable ties
Wire -14 and 16 gauge - stripped #12 copper wire, roll of, a good pair of pliers. To make plant clips, hangers
