Help/ Oncidium "Sharry Baby"/Spots on leaves... Female
Red face Help/ Oncidium "Sharry Baby"/Spots on leaves...

I am new collecting orchids. I begun last year with 4 phals
success story .
Yesterday I bought my 1st Oncidium "Sharry Baby" and was overwhelmed by its scent. When I brought it home I noticed that most of the leaves had tiny dark spots all over; is that normal? Did I buy a diseased orchid?

That's normal for Oncidiums. Most if not all of the ones I have have the same spots...no worries, your plant is fine! Enjoy!!

There were three new hybrids introduced in quantity into the hobby this year. These seem so far seem to avoid the spotting of the Sharry Baby leaves.

Onc. Heaven Scent (Onc. Ruffles x Onc. Sharry Baby)

Onc. Pacific Paladium (Onc. Sharry Baby x Onc. Illustre)

Onc. Sweet Sixteen (Onc. Ron's Rippling Delight x Onc. Sharry Baby)

all three have darker red flowers that are larger than Sharry Baby and the flowers on each is larger with Pacific Paladium being the largest flower.

All have the familiar chocolate scent. Heaven's Scent tends to multiple spiking with as many as 5-6 spikes on a young plant.
