I was less than compulsive regarding quarantine. I usually buy plants in bloom so they go on the "show-off" shelf until the blossom falls. Well I bought 2 complex hybrid Paphs. at the Maryland Orchid Society show about 3 weeks ago. They just dropped their flowers and low and behold my first mealybugs.
Needless to say I treated everything in the show-off area and will repot in the next day or so. I learned my lesson!

Yikes! I've not had to experience any bugs thus far! I suppose I should follow the direction of you others and quarantine my new 'chids for a while as well... Never given it much thought before

Yikes, that was a hard lesson. I've got alot of windows and can rig humidity and air movement pretty much anyplace in the house for 15-30 days of quarantine. So far it has worked---knock on wood!
