So I repotted my latest addition a few days ago.

Out with the nasty, compacted, stays way too wet moss and in with the new Schultz Orchid Mix. I let the new mix sit in a bucket of water for 24 hours before repotting.
Getting the mess of the moss out of the roots of the Phal was the hardest part. The roots were large, long, twisted and compacted. Once I freed the plant from the pot (reaaly wedged in there) I started the hardest part, removing the packed in moss from the roots. I had to slowly andcarefully grab small amounts of moss and pull it from the roots. In doing this I only partially broke one root. I was pretty happy with that small feat!
After I got all the moss out I flushed the roots with some fresh water, inspected the roots for any rot (none) and then began the putting it back together. There were a couple large voids in the center area of the root mass that I had to pack the bark mix into before putting the plant into the pot. then I had to slowly and carefully keep packing more mix into te smaller spaces. I tapped the pot on the table top a couple of times to get it to settle as well. In the end the plant seems real happy, none of the buds have blasted, no droopy sadness, nothing. I think I was successful only because of the great info I got from this fine community. Thank You!

A question: How do these roots look to you? I think they are OK, but I want the experts to tell me.

And the end result:

I suggest the use of O'Dell brewing products during repotting. 90 Shilling makes things go a lot easier.
