frozen 8" phalaenopsis recovery?
Unhappy frozen 8" phalaenopsis recovery?

I drove three days to get to las Vegas, and on the night i was in New Mexico, i left my phalaenopsis in my truck overnight. I don't know how cold it got, but when i got in the truck around 11AM, the buds (around 10 of them) had all drooped, the leaves had all drooped, and a portion of each stem had drooped as well.
It's been about seven days, the leaves aren't recovering, they're dark green/yellow, and the buds have turned black. I've been misting the roots a bit, but most of them look dessicated as well. There are still a few green fleshy roots at the very bottom, that were in the contact/buried in the
This orchid has been very good to me, and has bloomed multiple times even under my beginner hands. Right now i have it in the shower room in an east-facing window. I don't have my humidifying tray with me, so misting, and shower mist will have to do for now.
My question is this, what do i do with the dead parts, and can i recover it from the roots that are still alive? Do i go ahead and pull the leaves and the dead stems, or wait for them to drop on their own? How do i know if the stems are dead? I am assuming that the leaves are unrecoverable.

some pictures will help it looks like you lost the flowers, hopefully some part of the leaves is salvageable- if they've become mushy that means they're going as well, maybe you'll get a keiki.
eeeeps not a good situation but update us!

Stems are dead if they've changed color to dark brown, or yellow or become crunchy.

Sounds like a good freeze to me.

I'd throw it away to make room for a housewarming replacement.

I'm with Ray on this one, but, if you are set on saving it, I would put a clear bag over it, letting some air come in from the bottom. You want to maximize the humidity. Put it in a shady spot and be nice to it until it recovers.
If you have live roots and the middle shaft is firm, then there is hope. if you have no roots and the shaft is mushy, throw it away... you murderer
