Vanessa, I did find Marilyns and controlled myself very well there, only bought 1 red cat. Beautiful plants there, think I'd like a part time job there one day!! Also found East Fork orchids in a junglish area....bought a few more there. Then attended the Orlando orchid show.....wow.....bought 11 or so there. We found a few other nurserys in the middle of nowhere who also sold orchids....so in all came home with 17 in their very own suitcase. (bare rooted of course). So been busy potting and trying to find spots for the new ones. The orchid tours beat out our time at Disney for sure!!! Thanks again for your input.
I curious to know if you had any problems bringing the orchids back into Canada?? Did you have accompanying paper work?

I did a bunch of research prior to our trip "in case" I came home with a few extra passengers. It appears that effective mid April of this year (which I just beat by a few days) there will be a whole new set of rules including the phyto certificates etc. From what I was able to determine through Can. Customs and USDA I was able to bring up to 49 plants for my personal use provided they were dry root (I removed each of them from their pot and med.). We were driving and asked at customs about meat/plants etc. and we told them we bought some orchids, they immed. asked if in soil, we responded dry root, they sent us on our way. As I said, I think there is a whole new se of rules now though....so, I guess I should have brought home more!!
