Newbie need help w/Alcra Pacific Nova Butter

I recently purchased an Alcra Pacific Nova Butter at a nursery. It has a beautiful 26" spike covered wth blooms. It is only in a 3x3 plastic pot. It has 3 psuedobulbs and there is an attached bottom where you can place water. I want to place it on pebbles in a tray with water, but I have several questions. The psuedobulbs do have some wrinkling and on the one stem right before the leaf I have noticed a black spot. I am hoping it is not fungus. Also, I have the plant in an east window. Please help with watering, repotting or any tips that can be given.

I'm afraid I don't know about Alcra but just wanted to bump this thread up for you. Hope someone will chime in soon.
