Wow, this is a really old thread!

@DTEguy, yes it really was in bloom for 2 years on the same spike. Towards the end it was really starting to look raggedy. That's why I cut the spike off.

@Bud, I think the orignial idea of the vase was to try and increase humidity. The OP was having problems with the media drying too quickly and was hoping that by keeping it more humid that the evap rate in the root zone would slow down.

Wow! That's amazing. Yeah I realized that it was an old thread but was so fascinated that a phal's stem can hold on as long as a psychopsis'. I'm sorry that I mislead the others tho.
