rootone is iba in a talc carrier that just wont wet with water at all.......But a couple of drops of isopropl alcohol to a little bit of powder and then you can add water to it with no problem
But what's the concentration?
Both K-L-N and SuperThrive have the hormones at around 0.02%.
That I dont really know and I havent used it on orchids in the past.I use it in my water with fertilizer for most houseplants I want to jumpstart. And I have commercial grade rizophon that is .8% I bought when I was manager of a nursery and use it very dilute.I have mixed it with lard insted of lanolin before when breeding daylilies and just dab it on the surface where I break off a petal to make the bloom hold longer to help ensure pollination.
I just used this mix on a new goldenzell I got that has very few roots but does have two new root nubs just started to see if it will help.
I will just have to wait and see how it does now.
Im am experimentint on a goldenzell 'Lemon Chiffon' I purchased two weeks ago.The plant was in a 2 1/2 inch pot and fair sized but when I moved her to a wood basket she had only two good roots. Two small nubs were present and I decided to use some high power iba I had on hand {.8%} to see how she would respond.I mixed the powder with a dab of pure lard and applied to base of newest growth aand now have two more roots besides the two nubs that were present and the nubs while they havent grown much now have secondary roots starting.Maybe this is all natural growth but two other chids bougt at same time have no new roots appearing they do have roots on them in growth but no new nubs like the goldenzell.I believe I will try this on one of them now and see if I get the same results. If so I will then try it on the remaining one.If I get new nubs soon after applying on each in turn I will be assuming this is working well.
well the goldenzell "lemon chiffon" now has 2 new roots over a inch long and a third comiming out,These new roots are thick and healthy and this is after I carried the plant home from North Carolina to southeast Missouri this week. She rode in the floor betreen the seats In my truck ....lucky for me it was a overcast day and the ac wasent needed much and it was off and on rain for the 700 mile trip also....Good humidity for the drive.I have to say all three Catts I bought at Ironwood Estates orchids in N.C. are putting out new roots but The Lemon Chiffon roots are much more robust than the others looking to be about twice the diameter of the Mac Holmes "Newberry" or the Marey Ellen Carter "Dixie Hummingbird" roots. Now that Im home they are under a 75 watt cfl about 6 inches away and are getting watered with potassium nitrate solution for fertilizer and a drop or two superthrive per gallon. In a 10x10 room with its own ac set at 75 degrees.
