The Nelly Isler has a very strong sweet scent after the blooms are about a week old.

Things seem to continue on the right track...i've had more action out of these plants in the last 3-4 weeks than I've seen in almost 2 yrs of keeping orchids. The 1st and 2nd pics are updates of the original I posted. It's still developing buds and has a new spike. The 3rd and 4th are additional plants that both put up spikes in the last couple of weeks and both are growing pretty fast! If you look close there are two additional nubs that have just broken through on the last pic...can't tell yet if they're roots or spikes.

I've had my orchids in my bathroom for a while now. Eastern facing window and lots of humidity are good things! They look very happy indeed. I'm interested in the rack looking things you have in there. Is that a large corner tub or something the racks sit on? I'm still trying different places and light levels for all of mine. They seem to like it, but I'm just messing around I guess. I'd love to see a wider shot of your situation just to get some ideas.

Chas, those are the shelves from those wire shelving units you can buy at Lowe's. They fit perfectly across the tub! The window above the tub faces south and is on the SW corner of the house.

Sorry, I just bumped back into this thread! Jimbo, Nashville is having it's typical crazy Spring weather! Everything is starting to bloom, I just love Spring in Tennessee!!! I must say your chid is gorgeous!!! Looks like you found the spot it likes!! Now, is there going to be room when your collection grows? Is your bathroom going to turn into an orchid jungle?! hehehehehe

Amanda, I've got a bad feeling that it is!!! I was living in LaVergne and my house there would have been perfect! The front bedroom had a SE view with a bay window.

My house is crap for growing orchids, I do love my house though! I grow under lights in the kitchen area, I am going to get another table and light, so i can get more! I can still fit more on the 2 tables I have, but an orchid lover always needs more orchids, therefor needs more room! LaVergne isn't too far from me. I'm on the border of Williamson/Davidson Co.
