I only fertilize (foliar) once or twice a month....depending on if i remember or not. I use the MSU fertilizer that Ray sells. Also i only use rainwater as the tap water here is liquid rock.

Now let me guess... "liquid rock" ... Isn't this a sort of fertilizer? Our tapwater is high in chemicals considered "safe" by EPA for domestic consumption, yet cause all sorts of problems with plants, pets, babies, etc. I use Green Jungle + a bit of the MSU as a supplement with every watering. As a supplement I put KLN in the water as well. Nothing like covering all the bases?

Tindo, sounds like to me that your doing the right fert formula, its not like you are behind in your lobbii bloom . If you beef up your fert, wow can you imagine what will become of your viv

Our water supply (city) is consumable for domestic drinking but I personally think reaks and I wont drink it and especially will not let the chids drink it as well.

I am not so sure what others think but I do a monthly fert change...meaning...I do not like to eat the same food day in and day out so I change my fert about every 3 weeks or so, from Shultz, Jacks, Miracle Grow, Bloom formula (don't know the name right off the top of my head..senior moment). Not sure how this fesses up being only a 1 1/2 into orchids...so what do you's think?

I feed at 1/4 strenght everytime I water, then leach couple times/month. I use Plant Prod 20-20-20/15-30-15 or fish fertilizer. I'm very careful not to burn the roots (turn dark) and this is why I avoid Mircle Gro (too strong, too salty).
