Default Plum colored leaves on a cattleya

Is it OK for the leaves to turn a plum color from the sun?
It's a Bl Yellow Bird and has new roots growing.

Maree !!!! As long as they don't start turning yellowish brown you should be fine. Consider the reddish tinge a sun tan for the orchids. If you are conserned move it into a shadier place but it should be fine.

Thumbs up

Thank you Roly, As the sun gets higher and the leaves start to come out on my oak trees it will shade the baywindow and orchid and it should be more filtered. I will keep a close eye on it. A suntan is not bad, right?

Not at all. Once it gets more shade you'll see the reddish color start to fade.
