Hmmm... So it's not unusual that my one orchid's roots are still green after 2 weeks? My phals are in bark mix... The two that died were given to me and they weren't in a clear pot... But my pink phal that is still good is in a clear pot so I make sure I don't water it until the roots look grey...

Re: my green phal that's losing root... Do I need to repot it?

If the roots are still green then wait a bit longer. I don't particually find that they need more water when they are flowering but I DO find that the time of year and climate can make a lot of difference.

Just now mine are going about two weeks between watering and I've seen them go longer. If the roots are still green I leave them.

With the one that is loosing root you need to check for rotted roots and cut them away. Rot can spread so you want to remove the rotted matter and just leave the firm roots. Very gently put pressure on the roots with your fingers if the root is squishy then it needs to go, if it is firm then keep it.

If you have four good roots left then that is not too bad (better than one of mine which is still alive) so pot it up in to fresh bark and a if possible a clear pot and carry on caring for it being carefult not to overwater. You may want to try something like KLN which lots of people here recomend. I've only just started trying it this week so I can't say how well it works for me.

If there are no roots left then that's where the Sphag-n-bag comes in and KLN is good for that too I hear.
