Default new arrivals. maxillaria hematoglossa, Thunia alba, Dendrobium williamsonii

My long awaited orchids finally made it today, I was like a child unwrapping its christmas presents but now i am confused. All of them require a winters rest but theye all seem to have new growth on, the Dendrobium williamsonii is in bud, the Thunia alba has new growth at the base and the Maxillaria hematoglossa appears to have new leaf growth. when should I start watering? and do they need fertilizer? thank you in advance for any help you can give me, I am very new at this.

The timing on winter rests can vary. My Dens that require a hard winter rest go out in the cold studio in a bright west window from Halloween to Valentines day. They are in bud right now and one is pushing out new growth. I brought them both in last weekend and resumed regular watering and warmer temps. The buds are exploding out of the sheaths. If you are seeing buds and new growth on your plants then their winter rest is done. Water and feed as usual. Don't forget to post pics when the buds open.

Edited to add: Your Den. williamsonii is from the Formosae section of Dendrobium. Generally these do not require a hard winter rest simply a reduction in water and suspension of fertilizer during the winter months.

The Thunia alba will need a dryer, cooler rest than the Den. I would not suspend water entirely, maybe water lightly once a month during it's rest.

The Max. hematoglossa just requires a reduction in water and suspension of fert during the cooler months.
