Well, Kristin I'm glad you took the plunge and got one! Now one will turn into 2 then 4 then 8...it's never ending!! It's a wonderfully addictive thing, to say the least!! As Jkofferdahl said, if anything seems to be up with your baby, post a question right away. There are some fantastic people here, with lots of knowledge they are willing to share.

I was looking at my orchid today and I noticed that one of the leaves is being completely covered by another one. So its getting no sunlight at all and its getting a brown and white looking problem on it.

What should I do?? There's no way of moving the leaf on top over or anything?

Kristin, you have a very beautiful plant and flowers. I must ask you what the leaves of the plant look like? That is are they solid green or mottled? The reason I ask is because I have a plant with the same name but the flowers appear darker...that could just be clonal variation.

I attached some pictures.. The first is of the 2 leaves. You can see that the one is sitting directly on top of the other one. The second is a picture of the leaf underneath, it was the best picture I could take..

Let me know what you think?.. is the top leaf healthy? Do you think it needs more sun? etc..

Thanks so much for all your help

Kristin, the 1st pic looks like there is a 'silery' appearance which is what my plant's leaves look like. The 2nd pic almost looks like the leaves are getting soft and dehydrated.... As some others have suggested, you might want to take a look at the roots....

I often have leaves that overlap like that and in it's self it's not ever been a problem on mine.

But I agree with Doc the bottom leaf looks somewhat dehydrated and it may be a good idea to check out your roots.
