Careful with using cinnamon .. it can be very dehydrating .. just sprinkle the areas of open wounds ..
I have had first hand experience with over-'spicing' an orchid ..

I would leave the stem alone, don't cut. It's subject to a host of infections, otherwise. Just make sure it's clean and leave it!!!!

I always trim the stems, in fact I'm about to trim one today. Opinion on whether you should or shouldn't differs.

The cinnomon is to help stop infections so you've done the right thing with that. The first few times I trimmed them I didn't use anything and it was still OK.

Just be careful about using too much cinnomon especially near the roots because as Dorothy said it can be too drying.

When I repotted some of my orchids I used some cinnamon to sprinkle in the bark/moss mix that I use for my orchids . Will this harm or hurt my plants ? I used 2 tsp per bucket of mix .

I think some people use a small amount on roots, you need to be careful not to get too much.

In the small concentrations it should be OK but personally I now avoid it on roots if at all possible.

what if two roots overlap each other and touch? is it possible for rot to happen where the roots cross?

The roots on mine wrap all arround and overlap all over the place. Never had a problem.
