I was going to repot this phal into s/h over the holidays. It has new root growth which would help it adjust to the new medium. I don't really have a good reason to repot it though because the medium is okay and the plant is healthy. Would you repot it or not?
I, personally would NOT repot. I would cut the spikes back to next viable bud and leave it alone. Doesn't look like it has overgrown its pot. What's the condition of the medium? Is it waterlogged?
The medium is coconut chips with some perlite. There's some algae in the medium, but it's okay. The keiki on the left could probably be potted, but I think I'll leave it on for now.
If it ain't broke, don't fix it. I repot my Phals into S/H when I don't like the media it's currently in, or it got some sort of infestation. Otherwise, I leave it in the current media.

Do you have any idea when it was last repotted. Usually it's best to leave them for awhile, unless the media is getting old. Phals like a well aerated situation, they grow on trees afterall.
