Crazy Roots on Sharry Baby
Default Crazy Roots on Sharry Baby

Purchased a large Oncidium Sharry Baby in bloom with a pot full of roots. It has finished flowering and I would like to repot, but not sure if I must wait till spring, or can I do it now?

My first time posting a picture I hope it works!

mulchlady, you can just upload the picture to OB and it'll show up as a thumbnail...

BTW, I just took my sharry baby and put it into water culture, it has HUGE roots too!!! Massive!!!

Uploading the picture is the problem I've been having all along. I just can't seem to get the hang of it. I'm using Kodak Easy Share and I can't save it to a file that allows me to upload. What am I doing wrong?

Hi Mulchlady,
Maybe Eric can tell you how he did that! (I never post pics that way)

Otherwise, this might help you:

Trying to upload picture again.

Would love to repot. Am I asking for trouble if I repot now instead of waiting till spring?

Well the roots out of the pot will probably dry up over time since that are used to growing in the humid greenhouse. With mine, I waited until the flowers faded, but you could repot it now if the medium is bad.

Oh, and yours will probably send out new growth pretty soon anyways.
