Default Noid Cambria spiking

Hi there

I had to share this with someone , I'm so excited and I knew you would understand why I have a supermarket Noid labelled Cambria which is spiking. It is going to be a big surprise as I didn't photograph it when I bought it (or if I did I've lost it) so watch this space to see how it turns out....... Then maybe you can help me identify it

Congratulations

It's great when that sort of thing happens isn't it. I was just as excited when my NOID Dendrobium started a new cane at Christmas and I watch it's progress every day.

I know just how you feel.

wow!
how exciting!
that happened to me this past spring - a plant that I must have lost the tag to and hadn't bloomed since I bought it 2-3 years previously spiked and I was anxious to see what the blooms look liked as I couldn't remember.

can't wait to see what you have!

I know how you feel. I have a noid dend. That bloomed for it's first time for me late this past summer. And now it's been blooming again since xmas it has 4 spikes, still going strong. I just love it! Wish I knew what it was to that I could get another. Good luck, can't wait to see the blooms.

Default Noid for not much longer?

Hi

Thanks for your compliments on condition of the plant, some of the older bits behind the flowering pseudobulb aren't so tidy

Good news on the ID front - I pulled out the label (which is one of those vague ones with a general picture and care notes in six languages on the back) to discover reference to a web site Wooning Orchids - world of varieties which turns out to list all the plants they produce with a photographic guide and proper names on quite a few of them. The instructions are in Dutch which is not too much of a problem although Babelfish did translate the word for roots as "carrots"

So as soon as the spike bursts I should know what it is.......

Regards to all

Heather aka
