Default fresh bark as potting media

I happen to get a sack of pine and teak bark from local sawmill. How do I treat these barks to remove the tannins or can I just use these to pot chids?

Most commercial "orchid barks" have been autoclaved to strip the oils. Tannins are not really much of an issue, by themselves.

Thanks, Ray.

So far I have soak the barks with growth hormone, high N fertilizer, and fungicide. I am gonna use it after I dry the barks under the sun. Hopefully it will be perfect use for chids.
