Default Cam's orchid updates

Hi

So I like posting updates on my orchids, and since it is almost February, it is time for another update! ( You may be able to see some snow in the background of some of the pictures. ugghhh. I can't wait for spring to come!)

Two of my phalaenopsis are in spike, neither of which came with a tag, but the green leaved one has very waxy, yellow flowers, and the purplish- tinted leaved one has orange- red candystripe patterns over a pale yellow/ cream flower.

Next, my Sharry Baby's new growth seems like it going to grow into a large pseudobulb (its growing from a pseudobulb that is almost as big as the palm of my hand!)

After that is my Odontocidium Tiger Crow, which looks like it too will have a nice sized growth. ( This is what it looked like in bloom last fall: http://i38.tinypic.com/2dihwd5.jpg )

My Sanderara Black Star's new growth is already quite large in size. Hopefully it will be large enough to bloom this growing season!!

Last but not least are two of my miltoniopsis. The first is Miltoniopsis Red Tide, which has two pseudobulbs developing. I am hoping they will send out spikes in a few weeks.

My other milt. has no tag, but is fairly large in size, and has three almost completed pseudobulbs. This was one of my first orchids, and has always done well for me. I do have one question though, as you can see from the picture of the moss, it is really deteriorated, although the moss is only about 9 months old, since it was re-potted last april. I have some millipedes in my pots. Could they be eating the moss?

I also have been growing another milt. from the above plant; a pseudobulbs came off last year, and I now have a small seedling- size plant

Thanks! I love my Tiger Crow too! I got this for 15$ as a near blooming size plant, so I was lucky to have so many blooms for such a nice price! I actually first saw it here on orchidboard, and was pleased to see that one Canadian grower had it available to order.

LOL...Laura's list is longer than mine...and there are a few folks here who have more than me

I spend about an hour a day on the chids in winter and then in the warmer months, it goes to about 2 hrs a day
