One of my orchid's leaves has weird boils on it! help!
i have had my orcihd for about a year now and it has been fine- i have replanted it when i got it and after i accedentally tore off a leaf last fall, it has been fine. however, i have recently noticed sevveral boil- like things on one of the leaves, and it is soley confined to that leaf. it appears that the boils are rotting or something, because the area is really dark green and goey. what can i do?! its a dtps. leopard prince

Hi BElanna, welcome to OB.
If you can post a picture, it would help identify the problem you're having.

hmmm... well then lets get descriptive! Are the gooey spots sunken in? or does it actually look like a blister? How many and how long have they been there?

yes. the first was raised and when i touched it it collapsed, releasing clear liquid. then the rest appear slightly depressed and they are varuos sizes but no more thatn about a 3/4 of a centimerter in diameter, mostly circular and the outer skin seems opaque and white ish but you can tell it is a darker color underneath. they are all over the leaf

Sounds like some sort of necrotic bacterial infection. I'm not from the usa, so I can't tell you what products to use, but you should probably treat the plant asap.

I agree.
My first approach with such a situation would be to spray- or dip the entire plant in Physan at about a teaspoon per gallon.

Physan is and I quote from the company website "The Product
PHYSAN 20™ is a broad range disinfectant, fungicide, virucide, and algaecide which effectively controls a wide variety of pathogens on hard surfaces and plants. Its applications include greenhouses; hard surfaces; lawn and turfgrass; seedlings and cut flowers; decorative fountains, pools and birdbaths; and plants.
PHYSAN 20 is an EPA approved concentrate formulated with unique germicidal agents to provide overall protection for your plants and greenhouses.
PHYSAN 20 poses no human or environmental risk when it is used at recommended use levels and according to label instructions.
PHYSAN 20 controls disease-spreading organisms which can be carried from plant to plant by using contaminated pots, flats, seed beds, soil, tools and human hands."
It is good stuff to help stop or at least slow the spread of some bad stuff

just in case, i've found this link to be pretty useful Diagnosing Orchid Problems
if it keeps spreading, i'd cut the leaf off.
