I have a new dead one, too.

When I finally unwrapped the shade house yesterday after the cold spell, I found a phal with crown rot.

I never lost a phal to that before. I doubt the cold spell did that, but it looked ok last week.

So, I guess it could have been sick for a while. I have been having a problem with black rot (which seems under control now). So it could have been a result of that. If so it is my first fatatlity due to fungus. It hadn't sent out a spike yet and most of the other phals have. Ashamed to say I just tossed it.
