Orchid having a baby - Orchid Board

This is another of my orchids--I am definitely new at this, but this one has bloomed several times. Notice the baby on the stem. What am I supposed to do in order to enjoy the second plant?

What kind of chid is it? I have my 1st keiki growing right now so I dont have much experience but from what I have been told you are supposed to wait till you have a total of 4 inches in roots before cutting the baby off and putting it in its own pot That could be any combination... 2x 2" roots or 4x 1" roots... etc

It's a Phal. I wouldn't be removing that little keiki until the roots are 3 to 4 inches long.
Looks like you have some roots beginning.
Keeping the mother happy will keep the baby happy.

hello Say1rah,
this indeed is a keiki, which is forming roots. You should leave it on the plant until the roots are longer. Others can tell you how long they should be, I don't have experience with it myself.
Once the roots are long enough, you can remove it from the mother plant and pot it up.
