I know. But WE have to whine too - bad decision staying north of the M-D line I guess!
Take care of your "babies". They can survive for several days in the house and out of the sun better than they can tolerate the lower temps outside.
This too shall pass......

For the plants (not just orchids), these temps are a big deal because what we grow is not meant to take these low temps and there's a lot of work involved in protecting them
NO, WE'RE WHINING.........WELL.....THOSE OF US FROM THE "SOUTHERN" HEMISPHERE!!!!!!!

Ok,

So, I got scared and brought most of my orchids inside. I can't bring the vanda and the ones in the baskets-they are too big! So, my dining room and covered terrace look like someone, well, as my best friend says, "farted orchids." (she says that's what my house looks like)

Anyway, I hope everyone's plants weather the cold.

It was 27 at 7:30 this morning...according to the thermometer that is kind of protected from the real weather, it was probably 2-3 degrees colder than that in reality

The good news is that last night and this morning is the last of this cold blast...the warmup is coming!

Olde Man Winter can go back to where he came from ASAP I'm freezing my @#?% off !!!! I'm sure glad I kept my gloves and warm jackets when I moved here. Now where did I put the Hot Chocolate??

I live in Miami and we don't have any way to heat our house =(. I had 5 blankets on last night and moved all the orchids indoors but it was still 50 degrees in the house and I think one of them got some cold damage =(.
