I decided to post this fun thread cause i know i have used come off the wall things as planters. My list

orchids:

tupperware containers
glasses
measuring cups
pickle jar
wine glasses
duct tape pot (i made a pot out of duct tape)

non orchid plants:

a hollow glass head
a log with a hole
a rock with a hole
a kettle
an old dutch oven

well I haven't gotten too 'out there' yet but

*styro cup with holes poked in bottom
*plastic cap from something aerosol with holes poked in bottom
*wine cork to mount tolu sylvestris keiki

I have quite a few in tealight votive holders

There's also a hanging seashell, some plastic containers, driftwood, woven baskets...

I guess I am not very creative...I just use what I can buy...such as epiweb and other regular potting medium, mounts, and containers available on the market. I did receive one on a shell and it is very cool looking! One of these days I'll try a deer or elk antler when I have the space.

I used a coffee cup christmas ornament, filled it with sphag and then put in the mini orchid.

Wow! I guess the possibilities are endless, the only non traditional pot was a mount on a coconut, but christmas ornament you guys are incredible!

I have some shot glasses that I'm thinking about using for my keikis. I gotta get a glass drill bit cause i have lots of my s/h chids in glass vessels with no holes and I gotta cover the top and tip the whole plant to pour the excess water out when i water. If i see a clear plastic/glass container that will hold water and fit a chid... i'll use it
