I'm probably a 1.5. I'd love to be a 2.0, but I'd have orchidsicles if I strapped them to a tree here!

I check the orchid room almost every day. I have grow lights, a humdifier, and a fan. I check roots (clear pots are awesome) and look for pests frequently. I read orchid books and forums. I repot when needed. However, I have been known to get busy with work and let my phals get too dry (darn grow lights make the room pretty warm), so they get potted in sphag to deal with that. And I don't fertilize as often as I probably should, but then I'm cautious about fertilizer burn.

I also only buy orchids that I have researched carefully to ensure they will like my conditions. I will never have mounted orchids - too much of a time commitment.

I don't believe in watering orchids - or any plant - on a schedule. Too many variables. All my plants are watered when they need it, not according to a calendar.
