Peroxide is the one i use most frequently cause it fizzes but i use 50/50 water and alcohol with a drop of soap to spray for critters and stuff. The soap helps the mixture coat the leaves so it doesn't bead off

Well,
My philosphy is if that I can't grow it in South Florida without becoming a mechanical engineer/chemist/master botanist--then that orchid isn't for me.
So, having said that, the weather certainly helps, but I find that visiting my plants relaxes me after dealing with the stress of my professional life. I just have to remember that I don't necessarily have to "do or fix something" every time I look at a particular orchid. Like I said before, though, I keep thorough records of things, because prior to that, I caught myself in many "when exactly did I fertilize this?" moments? I also adhere to a strict fertilizing schedule, and the plants have flourished as a result.
Happy orchid growing!!!

Lobsterman, while it may be a bit riskier, if I had a lab, I'd be making a LOT more money!

I use hydrogen peroxide if I see signs of rot. If you catch crown rot early enough and throw in a few drops of peroxide, let it sit and then empty it out, you have a chance of saving the chid

50/50 listerine
Getting back to the spraying of plants with "solutions", can I assume that you want to be especially careful when spraying paphs. so as not to get liquid in the lip??

If enough liquid gets into the crown to accumulate, it's easy enough to use the rolled tip of a paper towel to blot it out

I was closer to 1 until I got pregnant. I developed an aversion to the fragrance of the cattleyas and was always tired. Now that I have a newborn and a toddler, I am definitely more of a 2.
