REMOVE CHLORINE INSTANTLY

Hello, to all you tap water user's. I just thought I would write down this little tid bit of information. When useing tap water from your faucet to water your orchids and you do not want to wait the 24 hours for the chlorine to dissipate. all I do is use dechlor. It is sold anywhere at your local fish store. This product instantly removes chlorine. I have been using dechlor to remove chlorine form my water source for the last 12 years. I have never seen any ill results from doing so. Why wait 24 hours when you can just add one drop per gallon and water your orchids instantly.

Interesting. Ive never worried about chlorine before for fish or orchids. Why do you use de-chlor?

I had thought about doing that for the orchid water, but letting water sit 24h/overnight is cheaper than adding conditionner. I used to use the conditionner for my aquarium, but that stuff costs money. So now we haul back water from our country house in jugs. The water of our small isolated village is pure spring water, so no chlorine.

Steve, I don't know about plants, but for aquariums chlorine is very bad. It's bad for the fish and also kills all the bacteria in the filter that degrades the organic waste in the tank. Since it takes a while to establish a good bacterial population in the filter, chlorine ruins the entire process.

There are all sorts of inexpensive products to use to test water and remove chlorine. I used to have fish tanks and i used a product that removes the chlorine and test the ph and reduce or increase the ph all from a pet shop. Prob like $5 -$10 a bottle and all you use is like a capful for like 5 gal (depending on how much you need to adjust it). I think the testing products would be useful too. I have considered using them with my water for the chids but i forget whenever i go to pet store
