I think I am going about this the right way and using correct OB posting etiquette - first I introduced myself, now I start writing Anyway, since I am not a patient person & like to hit the ground running I went ahead and placed a, ahem, "few" orders for orchids - and so far so good - of course receiving one in bloom made me even more gaga over the plants and I was grinning from ear to ear and letting out little squeals of delight as I was unpacking the shipment that came in today! I am primarily concentrating on fragrant orchids, but, a few others are sneaking in as well - looks, shape etc etc. I have been reading and learning as much as possible, I will try to create a orchid friendly environment - so far I have added these to the collection -
Miltoniopsis Teresa Mulholland
Pescatoria Wallissii "duke"
Laeliocattleya angel love
Phal. Equestris
ANGRAECUM sesquipedale
PHALAENOPSIS bellina (violacea Borneo)
PHALAENOPSIS Mini Mark Holm'
NEOFINETIA falcata
Aerangis biloba
BRASSAVOLA nodosa
CYMBIDIUM eburneum
ONCIDIUM ornithorhynchum
ONCIDIUM Twinkle Red Fantasya™
Vanda coerulea
Angraceum eburneum v. superbum*
Rhynchostylis gigantea white
Masdevallia Celtic Frost
Masdevalia Angel Tang
Maxillaria tenufolia

If you have good advice on any of these or some special quirks you know of - please let me know!!

Hi Bec, sorry I missed your introduction, welcome to The board. Congratulations on your purchases I like them all some I really love, like the Vandas and Neos.
What part of the country are you from? Are you growing them outside or in? What are you doing up at 3:11 AM? Ok the last question is for myself so disregard it.

LOL - same reason you are up at this time of nite

I live in VA, they will be living outside come summer - I have a covered deck which should be ideal for them - in the winter they will live in a lighted rack in warm basement (also buying cover for said rack, so I can spray & create better humidity)
