Blue birds on my window make me unhappy

My orchids are in a bay window, which my bluebirds have discovered. I thought it was kinda neat when they started pecking on the window. But I went outside to look and they are leaving a deposit on the window sill with each peck. Wheeeew what a mess.
Any ideas on how to stop this?

My mother had a similar problem once. She got a black outline of a hawk and taped it into the window. Once it was there, birds stayed away.

What about one of those cat things that you put in the garden with the clear marbles for eyes! You could stick that into one of your pots and they would think a cat was watching them.

Yeah, I was going to suggest a cat! But the hawk is also a great idea.

And Ross... you sound like me And this Summer my husband did chase a way a crow, that was harassing our pretty birdies, with a bb gun!

I would probably shot myself with the gun, not knowing how to do it.
The hawk picture: The bluebird pecked all around it.
Two cat pictures later: The bluebird is still there.
He is pushing his luck, his birdhouse might just disappear.
Now I have a Teddybear in the window.
Hopefully this will do the trick.
I can't imagine how a tiny bird could make such a mess, plus his beak is dirty and messed up my clean window.

They sell plastic owls to put outside in your garden to repel pests. I wonder if they work on bluebirds?

they say mirror works also anything that can reflect sun's light!
