Thank you all for your quick responses and advice. Jerry and Lagoon, now that i think about it I remember Martha Stewart on one of her old shows was trimming the daylights out of some orchids to make them fit in new pots. If I remember correctly she had an orchid expert on the show. I'm going to try all of your ideas and get back to ya'll with the results. I love to experiment!

Rogerman...that's how I grow my Vandas outside...the roots are amazing. I teabag them with Dynomite and they bloom constantly...the easiest of all my chids...just hose them off everyday. They would be a challenge in cooler climates unless grown in a greehouse.

Ross that pic is amazing as well. Cool plant!

Thats how ALL Vandas here are grown. Everything is outside and all have long roots...... I have never ever seen a Vanda grown potted in a pot
